Victoria on Vancouver Island. Just a little cloud but a lot
of sunshine. Temp 20c
The trip over from Vancouver is normally done by the BC
Ferry and takes about 2 hours tops. I am not sure where we got to in the night
but it took us all night until 6am to cover the same distance. Today we had a
tour to another of our favorite spots, Butchart Gardens. Our tour left at
8.50am and the journey took about 45 minutes. Although this was our 3rd
visit to these gardens they still looked fantastic and different because they
change with the season. Unfortunately, we only had 2hours actually at the
gardens because we sail at 2.30pm. I did have 4pm in my diary but it must have
been changed. So instead of strolling through the gardens as everyone else was
doing we had to step it out to see all that we wanted to. However, we still
enjoyed our visit and managed to use up all the Canadian money we had in the
gift shop. On the way back to the ship our driver took us for a tour of the
town which was a bonus. Once again we struck it to get a great driver/guide.
The Captain has advised us that due to some maintenance
which needs to be carried out on the electrical system we will now be staying
in San Francisco an extra night leaving at 1pm on the 10th. We will
not be going to San Diego but instead we will be going to an extra port in
Hawaii, Kauai.
