Vancouver Sunshine Temp 21c

Today we are in another of our favorite ports and we docked about 6.30am. As we planned to just do our own think in town we were not in a hurry to get up. We docked just by Canada Place for those of you that know the area and it’s walking distance to the downtown area. As some of our family will know we have a mission today to buy some special Apple Tea which we know is available here. However, the address we had for a supplier was quite a way from our ship but as we were just across the way from the Waterfront Underground station we caught the train to the nearest station which was easy to use once we worked out which zone we were in. Their underground is quite nice and as far as I could workout is driverless. We now have a good supply of Lynch’s Hot Apple Tea. We got back to the ship for lunch and intended to head out again in the afternoon with our iPads to download some updates and later to call the family on Facetime. However the best laid plans of men and mice sometime come unstuck. After leaving the ship and walking just a little way Betty felt that she had the return of dysentery that she had earlier and she decided not to venture too far from the ship so she returned and I continued on as we had already advised the family we would be calling. A Starbucks cafĂ© was not far from the ship so I went in there to have a coffee and use their free and usually fast Wi Fi. After downloading some updates I noticed the time was about 9am in Melbourne so I called Tanya first and we made contact which was nice to be able to chat with them. However because I was not the only one in Starbucks using their Wi Fi it was unusually slow which causes the conversation to breakup. After a short while I decided it was too hard to keep a conversation going so we hungup. Not wishing to disappoint anyone I then tried Zara and again made contact but not very successfully. Cheryl was not available on Facetime so I messaged her. I then walked up to Robson St to check out a few shops plus get a Frig Magnet and then headed back to the ship to check on Betty. Happily she was not too bad but did spend the rest of the day in bed. She told me that the float planes which were located alongside the ship were taking off all afternoon one after another. The weather while we were in Vancouver was glorious, quite warm compared with the earlier ports. We sailed at 11.45pm so we were able to see the lights of the city.
