1st August 2016

Glacier Bay Cloudy but with some sunshine Temp 16c Flat sea.

From the Navigator.

At approximately 6am Sun Princess will enter Glacier Bay and board the local Rangers and Geographer at Barlett Cove. Then we will proceed on a northerly course and once having pasted Willoughby Island we will alter to a north north-westerly course to enter the West Arm of Glacier Bay. After passing Strawberry Island, Sun Princess will disembark the local Rangers then retrace her track as we proceed towards our next post of call, Juneau.

We are now in the inside passage so the sea in like a lake with land on either side. Apart from going to meals we have spent most of the day in our cabin mainly on the balcony as we passed by glaciers. The day turned out to be ideal with mainly sunny skies. At the end of the bay the ship did a full circle so that all sides of the ship could see the views. We did see a group of people in canoes who would have been colder than us.

Our entertainment tonight was Instrumentalist Antonio Salci who plays the piano with the ships band. We have seen him a few nights ago and tonight he was equally as good as then.
