Dural Lots of rain
When we woke this morning it was still dry
but the forecast was for lots of rain. By the time Zara picked us up it had
started and it has poured for most of the day. In fact, so much so that I
thought Oliver’s football would be cancelled much to his disappointment as he
says he likes playing in the rain. He was not disappointed as it was not
cancelled.
Although it has rained it did not stop Rod
& I from fixing their garage roller door which had been involved in a
slight accident. What happened was Rod was turning his car around in their slopping
drive which is very narrow and he has to go quite close to the garage door to
do so. While he was doing this the 2 dogs got through the gate and Rod jumped
out of his car to put them back behind the gate but forgot to put on the hand
brake. Result car nudged door and causes it to come out of the track. Arrive
Father in Law on a white charger and together we took off the track reinserted
the door into it and refitted the track. All now good. But that was not all of
our excitement for the day. Zara had to take Veronica & Jake into Sydney to
sing in their school choirs but was going across the bridge when her car
started making noises like they had a flat tyre. Call to husband “What shall I
do” Husbands advice was to stop, put on hazard lights and take a look, if tyre
flat call NRMA. Tyre not flat but rather noise comes when braking she will
drive off bridge and re-assess. Now only making noise when braking hard. She
continued taking the children then returned home carefully, however the noise
has disappeared. Maybe problem gone. She needs to go back to collect children
so we will see. In the meanwhile, Oliver had to go to football so Rod took him
to the ground and at the same time dropped us back to the CP where we are now.
We are using the afternoon to load up our carry-on bags ready to move tomorrow
to our overnight stay at the Meriton Apartments in Kent St prior to going to
the ship on Tuesday, Yah!
As I write this blog at 5.15pm it appears
the rain has stopped.
