13th June 2016

Port Macquarie It rained overnight.

It had stopped by the time we were packing up thank goodness. We had a pleasant drive down to Pt Mac with a stop in Brunswick Heads for coffee and lunch at another one of our favourite places on this run. I refer to Ricardoes which is a farm specialising in growing Tomatoes and Strawberries hydroponically. It is about 10kms north of Pt Macquarie just off the Pacific Highway. If you are ever up this way remember to call in. You can pick your own strawberries, it’s easy they give you a container and some scissors and you walk down the rows in the green houses picking as you go. The plants are at chest height so you don’t have to bend. Both the strawberries and their tomatoes taste amazing. I can also recommend you try their Ricardoes Smokey Tomato Soup with Toasted Turkish Crusty Bread for lunch. If you are anything like us you will not get out of their shop under $50.

We are once more staying at the Sundowner Breakwall CP on the same site as on the way up and the dish still works so we will be able to watch the Melbourne news tonight.
