Sea Day So far smooth seas Temp 28c
From the Navigator.
Throughout the night and day, Sun Princess will sail across
the South China Sea. In the late afternoon, we will parallel the Taiwanese
coastline on our starboard side and the Chinese mainland on our port side.
There is a new lecturer who got on in Hong Kong and he is
going to talk about the war in the Pacific. His name is Bruce Petty, he is an
American and he has studied the war as a historian not a participant. I went to
his first lecture which was entitled “The Pacific War for Beginners” He gave a
good outline of the history particularly what came before. It was interesting
and I look forward to his future lectures. After lunch we went to line dancing.
There have been various members of the Cruise Directors staff lead the line
dancing some good and some not so good, today was a good one. Tonight once
again Bev & Ian did not like the menu for dinner so they went up to the buffet.
It was a Thai dinner with mainly sea food. I had something from the always
available menu, chicken satays for starters and a Beef burger for main. The
satays were Ok but the Burger was over cooked so I left half of it. Something
which is never on the menu but I know you can order is a banana split, which I
had tonight. Our entertainment tonight was a choice between vocalist Annie
Francis in the Princess Theatre or Pianist Salomon Parra playing classical
music in the Vista Lounge. We chose Annie who was very good and such a happy
soul. We could have also gone to see Mamma Mia! At Movies Under the Stars. The
ship is moving about a bit at the moment as we sail through the outskirts of
the typhoon. I don’t think I have mentioned that because of the Typhoon we are
missing the ports of Shanghai and Jeju and now heading straight to Incheon
Korea.
